If you value independence and enjoy socializing with fellow students, our Independent/Communal Living option provides a great balance of privacy and community. You’ll have your own space while still being part of a vibrant environment. 

On the other hand, if you want to fully immerse yourself in Mexican culture and practice your language skills in a supportive home setting, a homestay with a local family may be the ideal choice. Living with a family allows for 24/7 language practice and deeper cultural insights that can enhance your learning journey.

If you’re looking for a balance between privacy and the chance to connect with fellow students, our Independent/Communal Living option is perfect for you. All our private rooms are set around a beautiful open communal garden area complete with a swimming pool, hammocks, tables, chairs, and comfortable areas to relax or enjoy meals.

Which is best for you?

The style of accommodation that is best for you depends on your personal preferences, current Spanish level and your goals for the course. If your aim for Iguana Abroad is to learn Spanish as quickly as possible, a homestay is most likely the best option for you. It is total immersion.

Alternatively, if you prefer to take your Spanish learning at a slower pace and spend more time in an English-speaking environment, the independent accommodation may be a more suitable option.
